This DJ Kicks album by Photek is easily one of the best mixes I have heard in 2012. Thanks to Electronic Battle Weapons, I was able to listen to this album the first thing this morning. Give it a shot and you’ll know what I am talking about, if you’re into heavy, clean, bass music with hints of tech house and dnb. I don’t want to spoil the magic of this album, so give it a listen yourself and see how awesome this DJ Kicks album really is. Peep the tags if you want more descriptions. modeselektor + apparat = moderat == bass heaven
Moderat - A New Error [download]
Moderat is Modeselektor and Apparat’s collaborative project, which is a dark mixture of glitch, minimal, and techno. The beginning track on the self-titled album, A New Error is absolutely beautiful and demonstrates their stellar use of glitches and breaks. This music is best listened to with nice headphones or a stereo with superb bass, as the entire album is very bass heavy as it is synth-rich.
Some other notable tracks on this excellent album are Rusty Nails, No. 22, and Porc #1.
