XXYYXX - About You
Heard this track for the first time last night at Prajna Yoga’s Two Year Anniversary Party. This woman Tiana was doing some serious L.E.D. hooping to this track and had the whole place mesmerized! Enjoy the warm, ambient synths with some bass later in the song. Reminds me a lot of Koreless's grooves.
James Blake - Live at Coachella 4/14/2013
A very decent and pretty high quality recording of UK’s legendary James Blake throwing it down at Coachella last weekend. I wasn’t able to make it there this year, so this is the next best thing for me, and his set is absolutely beautiful. This is now convincing me to find a way to buy tickets to one of his sold out shows in SF at Mezzanine coming up. Thanks to Evil Concussion on Soundcloud for posting his recording of the set.

Sufjan Stevens - Futile Devices (Shigeto Remix) [download]
Shigeto does it again. Beatmaker-extraordinaire Zachary Saginaw takes Sufjan Steven’s mellow and reflective “Future Devices” and adds a chilled out beat to it that you could nod your head or step to. I was listening to Damian Lazarus’s most recent Lazpod (26) and he plays the original version of this track, which is awesome in it’s own right and very similar minus the beats. While Shigeto’s remix may not seem groundbreaking or complex, I feel like the track’s beauty lies in its simplicity. Enjoy the free download. And float away.
Mount Kimbie - Before I Move Off (Live from the Daytrotter Session) [download]
A must have for all big fans of the eccentric and experimental UK duo Mount Kimbie. This version of “Before I Move Off” is one of my favorites, I absolutely love how they tweak the song live compared to the album version. I can still remember feeling ecstatic at Coachella ‘11 when the bass thundered throughout the Oasis dome. This stuff is heaven for my ears. If you haven’t seen them live, I highly recommend you see them when they are in town. If they aren’t in your area, at least listen to their Live at Deaf Institute, Manchester set.
Mount Kimbie - Field (Daytrotter Session Live at SXSW) [download]
This version of “Field” by Mount Kimbie from SXSW is my second favorite, behind the one they played for Red Bull Music Academy. The difference between this heady, experimental track and the one from their album is the heady dark intro and the explosion of bass at [3:54]. I cannot say enough good things about the Canadian duo live. I saw them at Coachella 2011 and they were without a doubt the best act I saw the entire weekend. And… they’re coming to SF in November! If you haven’t seen these guys before, this is a strong recommendation to catch them when they’re in your hood. limzen certified.

Koreless - Lost in Tokyo
Just gave Jamie XX's Essential Mix a listen for the…millionth time haha, and I just had to post this chilled out postdubstep jam by Koreless. This song is super spacey and light, and it makes me feel as if I am either floating or underwater…
Also, I remember Jacques Greene dropping this jam during his set over at Monarch about a month ago. He also has a superb remix of the track:

Purity Ring - Fireshrine [download]
The Canadian music duo Purity Ring made some big splashes in the indie electronic music scene with their debut album of 2012, Shrines. Shrines is quite possibly one of my favorite indie electronic albums of the year. This post-dubsteppy, shoegazy, chillwave-y sound (witch house?) with some haunting vocals is an awesome blending of genres, and this duo hit the mark with their debut album. They’re kind of like Salem, but good. I highly recommend that you download this album and give it a play from start to finish, and get trapped in the hazy, blissed out beats with haunting vocals while you’re at it. Enjoy. Props to Alan for introducing me to this duo.

Disclosure - I Love…That You Know [download]
London based duo Disclosure drops this cool little track. I’ve heard this track on various electronic podcasts, usually as the closing track or a nice little in between ditty. Anyways, I decided to share it because I think that it’s a fun, upbeat, and damn catchy, and it has a nice little soulful vocal hook. Doo doo doo doo.
Shlohmo - Wen Uuu [download]
Los Angeles based producer Shlohmo drops some absolute fire with his latest Vacations EP. This is some high quality glitch / post dubstep / whatever you choose to call it. Sounds very similar to Mount Kimbie, or Koreless. “Wen Uuu” is a really chill track, and it almost sounds like its raining or something with the beats. Drop this mellow track on a rainy day.
The XX - Night Time (Synkro Remix) [download]
UK based producer Synkro provides us with a very chilled out, dubsteppy version of The XX's “Night Time.” Definitely a very mellow piece. I first listened to Synkro from his RA podcast, which I highly recommend. He reminds me a lot of Mount Kimbie and Koreless, with slight variations in style. Chill.
James Blake - Limit to Your Love (NPR World Cafe version) [download]
This new live album by James Blake is truly wonderful. I’m a huge fan of his music already, but these live versions of his tracks are truly special. For example, this NPR version of “Limit to Your Love” has a sweet drum improvisation / breakdown section, which is quite cool. On a lot of the tracks, you can hear a more raw sound of his voice, and “Unluck,” “The Wilhelm Scream,” and “Lindesfarne” really shine on these live versions. If you haven’t downloaded the album yet, I highly suggest you do so! I reuploaded it below, see my previous post because I think he took the free download off of his Tumblr. It has a bunch of songs that weren’t on his eponymous LP, too:
08. Anti-War Dub (Live) 09. Klavierwerke (Live) 10. CMYK (Live) 11. Once We All Agree (Live) 12. A Case Of You (Live) 13. Enough Thunder (Live) 14. Love What Happened Here (Live) 15. Tep And The Logic (Live)
James Blake has given his fans a free download of his album with his LP being performed live. Tracklist below. Download the album, James Blake - Live Album (2012) here. He was definitely one of my favorite live acts I saw last year. Free James Blake, hooray! Enjoy. *Note - I uploaded the album so you can download it directly from me, apparently Jimmy B took it off of his mediafire. Holla!

Koreless - MTI [download]
One of my favorite songs of 2011. I heard this track on various podcasts, and I had to figure out what the song was. Koreless brings some serious beats with this post dubstep track… I used to say that term jokingly, but I don’t really know how else to describe it. Tons of amazing music coming from the UK. Listen to this track and float away. Just chill.
A nice 22 minute minimix by Mim0sa. I hadn’t really checked him out too much until I heard this mix, which is pretty awesome. A lot of futuristic sounding bass music. Post dubstep ish if you will.
